We’ve published three new looks for winter 2014!
“Radiant Orchid” is Pantone’s Color of the year 2014, so that seems like a good place to start. We’ve seen a lot of purple items come in this fall & winter, and while we certainly wouldn’t suggest wearing solely this color, it is a lot more flexible than you might think. Pantone says, “A modern and surprisingly versatile shade, Radiant Orchid enlivens the skin, making all who wear it feel more healthy and energetic.” I guess we’d agree about the versatility, if maybe not being able to vouch for the health benefits. FYI the Pantone color code for this is 18-3224, so we dare the Magnetic Fields to fit that into a song.
These are going fast! We’ve already seen more than 10 of these tees that we’ve first tagged sell out. Maybe everyone you know is secretly wearing one under their sweaters? We’ve seen a lot of the very pricey ones ($250 and up) have great-looking similar styles available in the same season at a much more reasonable price, even if they maybe aren’t quite as daring or interesting (maybe?). I’d like to think of this as a backlash against the inexplicable popularity of the $120 completely blank plain white shirt.
I’ve seen some sites calling this a “resort” trend, though I would have thought you’d go to an island somewhere in January so you didn’t have to wear a jacket? Plenty of really smart and interesting jackets though, mega bonus points for the first person who sends us a picture of them in this Galliano Cloud Blazer, whether they are in Curaçao or Calgary. Actually, double bonus points for Calgary.
